their talent and passion to help develop the next generation of Grand Masters!

This is an extraordinary opportunity to join an innovative chess program that is
a national model for developmental chess. Led by renowned NM player and coach
Jerald Times, the SA program is deeply committed to chess as a vital piece of
a whole-child education. All scholars take chess starting in Kindergarten and
promising players compete on elementary and middle school teams that regularly
take home top trophies from local, state, and national tournaments.

Success Academy chess coaches are integral members of their school
communities and work closely with colleagues to ensure scholars thrive academically
and discover and develop their passions. Their responsibilities include teaching
non-competitive players in elective and specials classes, coaching competitive
teams in school clubs and at tournaments, and engaging in professional
development sessions with colleagues to support their growth as outstanding
teachers and managers.

Successful candidates have these qualities:

  • An advanced understanding of the game of chess; tournament experience
    a plus;
  • Teaching experience, with a record of propelling student’s understanding and
    love of chess;
  • High moral character and a passion

Compensation and Benefits:
