Welcome to the Queens Chess Club!

COVID-19 Policy

Due to continuing COVID concerns and to comply with NYS regulations we are using the following precautions:
1.) All Players and Spectators, VACCINATED OR NOT, must wear a face mask that covers the mouth and nose when inside the building.
2.) No spectators will be permitted in the playing room.  One parent may accompany a minor.
3.) The Club will not provide boards, sets, clocks or refreshments.  Players must bring their own equipment.
4.) Hand Sanitizer will be available and should be used.
5.) Please refrain from shaking hands at the start and end of games.  Fist bumps are allowed for now.

PLEASE READ!  We receive a lot of emailed questions that already have answers on this page.

Where we meet:
All Saints’ Lutheran Church (basement)
164-02 Goethals Avenue
Jamaica NY 11432

Club Telephone number:
for last-minute changes (ie: cannot play a round, need a bye, arriving late, etc.)

Forfeits: A player who doesn’t request a bye and fails to appear will be charged with a forfeit loss and a $5 fine.  The fine will be increased on players who repeatedly fail to notify in advance.  Remember that a forfeit by you deprives another player of a game.

When we meet: We meet ONLY on Friday nights.  Registration for our events is from 7:00PM to 7:15PM with games starting promptly at 7:30PM.  Some nights the club will be closed due to church activities, especially around religious holidays.
